My '99 Tacoma. 4x4 5 speed manual with the rear diff locker. 275,000 miles on it. Crashed it last year and found a 964runner bumper for cheap that I put on it. Also 50.00 aluminum camper shell with custom bunk bed rack and ladder I found on the side of the road. Threw some solar panels on the rack for power when I'm camping. Really need to dump the wheel spacers in the front but my wheels hit the caliper without them :/ If ya can't tell I like to DIY stuff for cheap haha, at least till I'm out of school. On 32x11.5 falken wild peaks.

    It’s technically a 99.

Deets on that turbo setup? There’s a fairly comprehensive thread on boosted Tacos here.

Completely Stock except for Ranch 5000 Shocks and Struts.
Do people on here realize that the 1998-2000 is the best looking series out of the first generation Tacomas?

I like my ’99 but really like the later face lift 1st Gens best.

My little 98. 94k miles TRD offroad pretty much all original with a 1st gen grey supercharger that’s been on it since new. 3rd owner. Getting ready to swap under its new 01+ frame with new oem leafs and front springs, 4600 billies

only plans are light restoration, LCE pro clutch, JBA cat back and TRD parts as they pop up. A haltech ecu will also likely happen to help with the pinging issue [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Its definitely crossed my mind but haven't done any research into what that would take. That'd be pretty fun tho!

My CA -> Chicago -> Indy '99 Pre that I've had since 2011. AAL for lift in back and Bilstein 5100s for the boost in front. Old 4Runner 16" wheels with 265-75r16 ProComps to help slow down that 2.7 auto with the open 4.30 diff. Fun fact: Auto 4 cyl Prerunners in '99 did not get e-locker. So yeah, it's easy to get this one stuck. 171k miles, frame is solid as can be, and was NOT eligible for frame swap, so it's gotta be original. Just replaced the exhaust for the first time. And the trans fluid. Other than that, quite stock.
