nice revival of the truck, I wish I had kept my 2000 Tacoma to duplicate your work. The more I look at first gens the more I want to switch back and sell the 08. How much weight did the monstaliner add approximately?

Thanks man! I never would have done it had the paint not been beyond saving. But I'm glad I did, I LOVE that it's indestructible. I just never worry about it, ever.

Thanks man. I just never got sold on the newer trucks. I actually have gone backward in time with my Yotas. Started with a sweet Tundra dbl cab, then back to a 3rd gen 4runner when we moved to a city, then back to the 1st gen taco when I started doing some remodeling around the house. These old trucks are refreshingly simple and tough.

As to weight? The monstaliner only added 15 lbs max, probably less.

I bought three gallons overall IIRC. I used about 3/4 gallon for each of the two coats (having to waste the bottom of each can because it cures somewhat quickly when exposed to air). I have one more gallon I'm going to use on my topper one of these days. I've just been lazy in carrying it into the garage and removing the rack and lights etc to just do it. But it's on my list.

I just painted the bumper and changed to a flush satoshi grill on my 99. What fog lights is everyone tucking behind the grill? I love the look of it.

i just followed another write up that was on here already. It was pretty straight forward. I think i secured my mesh a little different than most. I cut it out to fit within the indention of the grill and used 1 inch L brackets screwed into grill and zip tied the mesh to it. I think some fold the mesh to fit in the grill. I can do a write up if needed.

I vote on the bumper. More light output especially since you have your Toyota logo too. My .02 cents lol

That's what I have, the BAMF mount. I actually had to cut off a part of the mount, grind off some of my center support, grind off some fins on the back of the light, and do a flush satoshi grille to fit it lol. I can try and get pics but it's a little tight.

I'd have it go just under the emblem. I'll take off the TRD one as its turned to shit haha

Oh ok gotcha. I knew I saw some 98-00 that had one. I guess I'll snoop around your build and what not. Trying to also get a new satoshi but make finding mesh flush is the hard part

Ha found some, may just go that route and keep my grille, it's already flush and my light bar right now barely doesn't fit but I'll have to see once I actually mount it
