Pretty cheap. How long have you had them? They holding up alright so far? Any condensation?

Bought some cheap 2nd gen blacked out housings for my 2nd gen and they leaked, but even after sealing a couple times they will randomly get condensation after rain storms. Sometimes it's the passenger side and sometimes it's the drivers. I can confidently say after taking them out and resealing them with silicone more than once that there's no way water's getting in through the seam between the lens and the housing. I think some aftermarket housings just don't have good tolerances around the bulbs and can leak there.

The good news is that whenever it happens now it's such a small amount that I just take the bulbs out of the housing over night or maybe while I'm at work and the moisture leaves the housings and they're good to go again. So it's barely any moisture getting in now. Not a bad issue to deal with for having cheap headlights compared to prices for oem housings. I'll probably be super observant if I make some retrofits just to eliminate any leaks whatsoever, but for now I'm set :)

So you're resealing the lens? Or the area where the bulb goes that you were talking about. If the come apart easily I might consider just doing a retro fit while I'm at it.

I go to adjust the lights and the back adjuster broke, so now I can't adjust them... fudge... I'm irritated, they look nice but not functional.... I read reviews that the adjusters broke easy

All I'm doing is caulking the seam between the lens and the housing with silicone - while others will swear that the only way to do this properly is to open them up in an oven and use new window weld I've found that this may or may not be more effective than using silicone from the outside on the seam. Pushing it in all the cracks with your finger and wiping it smooth makes it clean and leak proof as far as I am concerned. I used to paint houses so this is my preferred method lol.

After taking my 2nd gen lights apart I'd only do it again if it was on a new set that I was going to retrofit for sure. Other than for that reason I'd not waste my time with it. Even with all of the rain this year all I've had to do to get rid of the condensation is to take the bulb out for a day and let it hang from the wiring harness. If I was doing a retrofit I'd go for both the new butyl tape, silicone, and double check the seal where the lights click into the housings to make sure those puppies hopefully didn't get any condensation. That won't be for awhile though. I'm thinking of converting my truck to the 96 headlights & grill since it's only a small amount more than getting new 98 lights and I like the look better.

I know a lot of people prefer the total chaos uppers over the camburg uppers. Hiemed upper is better also, but more expensive.

Okay, its gonna take me awhile to save up the cash for all of this, coilovers took me months alone. Baseball coaches and money dont go together. Would i be able to get away with just adding on or just suck it up and save for new packs?

you may be able to get away with AALs, but if those are original leafs on your truck, just get Dakars and be done with it.

I just bought a 98 Tacoma 4 cylinder 2.7L 2 Wheel drive Automatic and I would like to fix it up don't know where I can buy parts specially for the truck. I want to replace the exhaust system with a header and exhaust system. Change the suspension shocks, sway bar and links. Any suggestions would be appreciated not looking to buy a new truck just fix this up a little bit. My odometer does not work took it to the Dealership for front end alignment and asked the service advisor on what it would cost to fix the odometer and he quoted me somewhere 400.00 dollars has anyone come across this problem with the odometer not working?

I bought a cluster off a member on here and swapped mine out so that I could have a tach. Took me a while to find one that was 4cyl with a tach. You can find one used for around a hundred dollars. The service to correct the mileage is what's expensive though. Which is why I never did it to mine. I have both clusters so if I need the mileage I just have to do some basic math.
