What is E for you? When the light comes on or when your truck stalls? I haven't pushed it that far yet so I'm not sure how much is left at the bottom when I refuel. I just quoted that guy from another similar thread.

I haven't stalled mine yet, but have ran it pretty far after the gas light goes on and it'll usually take around 14 gallons to fill up.

I've had the needle drop way below E and the light never comes on. I'm too afraid to go much longer that far past E

Not all trucks are wired for the light. My truck is not since it doesn't have the 3rd wire on the sender in the tank.

I have the larger tank, I thought it was 18.5 but it could be 18.

My light comes on when I have 3 gallons left. I figure it's kinda like a buffer zone.

I've put a little over 16 gal. in my 99 4WD TRD never ran it dry but I think usually when the light comes on if I fill up soon after it usually takes 14 to 15 so I'd buy the 18 gal with the light coming on about 3 gal before empty.

Brand new to the forum, but this is my second Tacoma. I have gone back in time and found the 1st Gen I was looking for. Just picked her up this weekend. 2000 Tacoma V6 TRD SR5, 1 owner, serviced at the same Toyota dealer its whole life. 103k miles, timing belt/water pump done at 80k. Everything was done on this truck for maint, and the frame looks great (undercoated). Some picture from the first drive home, all sun faded and in need of a cleaning. I put 500 miles on her this weekend and drove on the beach without a hicup, Then cleaned inside and out. Gave the paint some attention, dipped the wheels, badges and corner lights, and got the fading out of the flares and bumper and removed some of the headlight yellowing. Looks like a different truck. I am in love with it!

THANKS! I forgot the best part, it was only $7900. I had to drive far to get it, but man was it worth it. I don't think they understood what they had.
