this was the wildest part. I’d never seen one that still had the factory interior cover. Likely because it doesn’t retract anywhere, you just have to remove it and place it aside ha

I need one of those covers, preferably in gray. I had to paint the glass it was so hot. I'd love to scrape the paint off and have the option.

Have you considered some mirror tint instead? I put it on my topper windows and it is significantly cooler back there now. You can’t really tell from the outside since those windows were tinted glass already.

Thanks, hadn't crossed my mind but I could see something like that working. Just hitting the outside with plastidip made a huge difference but after 3 or so years it has been flaking off this could be the ticket.

Trucks a 99’ 4x4 v6 Manuel with 265kmiles. Truck was running fine and Suddenly no AC. Ac switch does light up when pressed but compressor doesn’t turn on. Added freon. Still nothing. This was 4-6 weeks ago. Now hot/cold thermostat knob is hard to turn and sometimes makes a loud click. And ac panel doesn’t light up like the rest of the dash. Anyone experience these problems?

What did you use to paint the chrome on your grille, front/back bumpers? Thinking about doing something similar to this

It took a couple days during spare time but I made it through all 99 pages. Great thread. I'm in the process of planning on what to do cosmetically to my 99 seen below (delete the chrome so to speak and convert it to black and tan)

    Grill:
Color match the chrome part of the grill and paint the inner horizontal slats and Toyota logo flat black.

    Bumpers:
Paint the whole bumper black (get rid of chrome).

    Headlights:
I'd like to get some with black housing, still need to read up on options.

Windows: DIY tint to match the other windows.

    Misc:
Take off the flares to see what it looks like with them off. They have some pitting and fading so they need some love whether I plan on keeping them or selling them. Replace door handles with black handles. Pastidip the chrome badges black.

    Wheels:
Plastidip black until I find some black rims I like.

Just took the flares off, not sure I'm a fan... especially if black and tan is the approach I'm taking.

Luckily the metal and paint underneath are in good shape but it's been in Arizona for it's entire life so it should have been in good shape.

I suggest color matching the chrome piece on the bumper, otherwise it just looks like you have a base model truck. If you're already color matching the grille, then it's not too hard to do the bumper pieces. They are removable, although you have to pull the whole bumper off to remove them.

Not a fan of platidip but black wheels will look nice. Especially OEM TRD wheels or aftermarket. Me personally would buy more emblems and paint them first.

Keep the door handles and just paint them black. If you swap them to black they are plastic and prone to break easier
