Can anyone tell me where the crash sensors are in a 2wd base model Tacoma? Mine had a couple of front end mishaps but the air bags never deployed. I’ve got most of the nose apart but haven’t seen anything that could be a sensor. No air bag light on dash either so it seems the computers aren’t seeing any issues.
I do have some dangling cut wires but I think they are for the turn signals in the torn off bumper. 98163242-E1D5-4735-A022-C76FABA2737D.jpg

Two little black sensors in the front corners. If the airbag didn't deploy, then they are still good.

All airbag system wires have yellow connectors. The sensors are just above the frame rail in front

I haven’t found anything near the frame yet with yellow connectors. I wonder if the 98 only had the inside sensor. Or maybe farmer Brown took them off.

Fantastic 11 is that the 98 OEM manual? Thank you!!

Look down near the upper control arms. If you don’t see yellow wrapped wiring I suppose someone removed the whole system?

my research shows that there are not any impact sensors, just a deceleration sensor located under the radio/center console area.

That’s what it appears like to me with my 98 anyhow.
