Got my new rims on with some used BFG mudders for now. I really like the 17" rim. Not too big, but a little more than stock.

Looks really good dude. Too big of tires and your truck won't be as fast

For sure, I am rethinking my tire choice. May not end up going with 35". These BFGs are just temp until I can afford new ones. I think I will settle with a 33" all terrain probably.

Yeah, if I do go 35" I will regear to 5.29. The extra weight and rolling mass will always slow you down some. Like you said Chris, I'm hoping the gears would keep you close to stock speeds, plus the turbo should give it more than plenty "go juice."

What is your gear ratio now? I would argue that with the turbo, you wouldn't have to mess with gears regardless if you are rockin 33s or 35s.
5.29 gearing, 35s, AND a turbo is a recipe for a busted up rear end. 4.10s and fully treaded BFG R A/T 31 10:50s (yeah yeah, I know) have served me amazingly not only on the street (speed wise [0-60 in 8 secs @ 5psi]) but in/on dang near every mountain range in colorado.

Actually when I switched to these 9" wide rims and little bigger tires, my bae handles way......way better. The wider track width and more meat on the road keeps all those little (and some big) potholes from literally rocking my truck. I can imagine bigger tires (and a LT kit) will tremendously improve stock handling. For the $$$$ I should think so. Oil pan and turbo going on this weekend. You may have to give me some real time advice on things. Please, and thank you.........

Lol they won't be laughing when they're looking at your tailgate! I tell you what, these light little trucks can go more places than most v8 domestic trucks can, and with a turbo it's laughable. 5500 lb trucks with 350hp are easy pickens for a 3400 lb taco with a turbo

Wouldn't say long travel makes handling better, but it's pretty cool

I'm just doing it (LT) because of the horsepower it adds, plus it makes my 3rd member thicker. (Um, that's a joke)

Really, my assumation would be that it would depend on your shock spring rate and valving. I'm going lite, not jumping the thing pretty much ever. Also thinking there is no comparison to stock ride vs.an LT ride.

Changing out my oil pan. Cannot drop the diff completely. I think I need to remove one of the axles to get it sideways enough. Oil pan is off. It won't come out without the differential almost completely out. Ugh. How can I pull one of these axles? Through the tire and hub I'm going to go.

You need to pull both axels, put the drive shaft, and loosen the steering column to get the diff out.

Omg! I won't ever do that again. Got the diff back in. Only pulled 1 cv and didn't touch the steering rack.

    Omgggggg! Pain in the arse!

Put the an12 oil drain on ready to mate to the turbo. Exhaust cut off per Mr. Gio, you rock for the help! Stock headers coming off soon.

Goodbye old stock exhaust system. You served the truck well for 17 years, and still would've kept going.

Looks good. See if you can get the oil feed and oil drain to sit as perpendicular as possible, otherwise you will get oil leakage in the intake.
