Haha thanks. Truth about the tires is that I went with 40"s cause I got them really cheap used LOL.

Good to hear there's another guy here that has a similar build going on to what you want.

She's ready. Took it for a quick test drive today. I have to say, hydro assist is awesome :D The steering feels smoother and easier than when I had IFS on 33"

The infamous "taco lean." It even happens with SAS lol. The body sits lower on the driver side just as it was with IFS

The only issue is that the IFS steering box is leaking, so it's going back to be rebuilt  Other than that things are pretty much done

In AZ, is hydro-assist legal for a street vehicle and will this be a DD?
    Any pics of the set-up?

Looks awesome. Mine still had the lean after my swap so I ended up dropping the spring rates on the front passenger side coilover. Sits perfect now

    Thanks!

Everything is legal in AZ...from guns to hydraulic/hydro assist steering lol

Seriously, you see people driving insane rigs on the road with full hydraulic steering and 40" plus tires.

Sorry I have not pics at the moment of the setup. But i ended up going with the typical PSC kit that many people have.

Mine will NOT be a DD. Just a weekend toy. Will drive it on the road to/from trails. But that's about it. 40"s is not very practical for a DD.

I might need to do that!. From a practical perspective it doesn't affect anything, but the body lean is noticeable when u look at it.

It ain't gonna happen anytime soon. A tacoma with an extended cab bobbed is almost as long as my reg cab.

Besides...the wheel base and approach/departure angles are perfect for me.

Also, I am intentionally keeping the bed as it is because i like having the space to haul all of my camping gear, tool boxes, coolers, etc.

When I link the rear...well...that will be a different story :D

    Thanks!

I love the way this thing looks. I have a major soft spot for regular cabs. You will need the bed for storage since you can't throw crap in the xtra cab!

Haha! True:D That's why i want to keep the bed the way it is. The pain of a reg cab is that you don't have any room inside the cab to store anything.

The approach/departure angle is not bad after all.

    Thanks for your words man.

The project turned out good. The fabricator really did a good job, very high quality all around. The flex exceeded my expectations. But as you can see from the pics, we had to cut a good amout of sheet metal to make room for the big tires and all the flex :D

    No action pics yet :(
