From all the parts that I've bought/installed/traded/bought again lol...that ARB bumper is the one part that has remained in the truck all these years. Those ARB bumpers are built well man. It's a really good product.

    Tks!

Are you running a CV joint on the front driveshaft? Trying to decide if I want to once I install the Atlas

    Yes about the CV.

The factory front shaft was retubed to make it longer. I can't recall right now what the drive shaft shop did exactly for the CV. But whichever they put in there it works for the most :D

It binds a tiny bit only when the axle is fully flexed. Getting a new custom shaft with massive operational angles could fix that but those custom shafts are way too much $$$$$$. A cheaper option will be to grind down a little bit of material on the jounts where they touch when the axle is fully flexed, or to install a limiting strap.

Why would you want a cv unless you are drving on the street at high speeds in 4wd? the factory 2 joint setup has more operating angle than a cv does.

I have found myself driving at high speeds with the hubs locked in, not necessarily in 4wd, more than I thought I would.

Good to see you over here :D

When i started my build, for some reason I went straight to the SAS folder. It didn't occur to me, at the time, that posting on the 1st gent build folder would have been better - as there's more traffic on that section.

It's been great chatting with you guys on jubei777's build thread.

hahahaha. I guess the same would have happened to me then lol

I think these SAS projects just go over many people's heads. There's a whole generation of people on this forum that are more into cosmetic upgrades to their trucks and things like that. But the hard core tech stuff doesn't really interest many people here.

But I really like the platform on this forum. It is really easy to use, it is not saturated with ads like Pirate and other forums.

wow man, thanks for your kind words. I really appreciate it.

All the credit goes to my builder. I was involved in all aspects of the build; going to the shop frequently; emails, phone calls, etc.

We had a good partnership; from the start and throughout the build I communicated what I wanted to do and he presented me with pros/cons; other options, etc.

The end result is exactly what I had in my mind before the project started.
