I have a 99 taco, 3rz 2.7. I’ve had it for about 18 years and have done pretty much all the work myself.

Just shy of 280K I blew the head gasket. Put in a new head, put everything back together. Turns over lovely, checked the fuel rail and it’s getting fuel, sparks seem to be working, but for some reason it just won’t start.

I made sure that the ground wire to the firewall is clean and tightened down…this is the last piece in this puzzle and I’m just at a loss.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Update: I had missed a ground cable. Got it on there and it starts. However, it revs up to 1200 and then sputters out. Replaced the IAC, same jam. It’s not throwing any codes.
