    Hello all. 99 4runner SR5 v6.

My automatic antenna finally broke. The antenna won't retract itself all the way down and it sounds like a gear inside is rounded out.

Is there a way that I can replace it with a normal antenna and not an automatic one?

    Thanks!!

I used a warm weekend in March 2022 to finally install my brand new from old stock 2000 4Runner driver's seat. $800 directly from the factory in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
    Here's the how to:
    https://www.4runners.com/threads/replacing-the-power-antenna-with-whip-antenna-picture-heavy.655/

    Part Numbers (Sept 2018):
    Antenna Assembly: 86300-35090 ($54.77)
    Tacoma Whip antenna: 86309-0C020 ($30.04)

Here's about as inexpensive as Toyota parts get:
    parts.toyotaofdallas.com

With everything including shipping & a 6-pk for afterward, it's about $100 & about 3-4 hrs from prep to no more worries.

In case you haven't seen them already, I'd check these links out too.:
