    So I have the opportunity to buy a 1999 4runner thats 4wd for $200
the guy told me that the timing belt broke and it has a bent valve. I don't know what shape the rest of it is in, I haven't seen it yet but hopefully looking at it this weekend.
Any reason I shouldn't go ahead and buy it?
Also, will any of the parts off of it fit my 02 tacoma trd 4wd?

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
They should be a chain not a belt. Probably the engine is hosed. You can get more then $200 selling a few parts. It's a steal for that price. Buy it.

Then later assess if it's worth rebuilding or should be parted out.

99 4Runner for $200.00 That would be coming home with me!!

Just what engine would be in a 99 4Runner that has a timing chain??

The 3.4 is a non interference engine if the belt is the only problem you stole it!!

It's less Tacoma and more mod
99 Runners can still have the option of the 3RZ in which case a whole built eBay head is like $500.

a lot of the 4runners up from your area have a lot of rust issues. make sure to check for that.

make sure to check and see if its had the pink milkshake or if its had it in the past.

a lot of the 3rd gen 4runner parts and 1st gen 4runner parts are interchangeable

I have never seen a newer 4Runner that did not have a 3.4 in person
