I read somewhere that Tacomas made from 6/99 and after are actually 2000 as far as engine management goes. Mine was made 6/99 in California. Can anyone verify this because 99 uses an O2 sensor, 00 uses air/fuel ratio sensor. Both plugs are the same. Could this be why my ltft insists on running +12 although I have no vacuum/exhaust leaks, the pump and filter are 1 week old. Please see pics below. This is driving me batcrap crazy. (I don’t remember what’s in there but it’s only a few months old) no label under the hood either. I wouldnt buy those sensors from Advanced, or any parts store for that matter. Youre gonna pay a ridiculous markup. Search on Rockauto's website and you'll probably pay a bit less.

Heres the same ones you screenshoted. Pretty big difference

^^This. Advance is crazy expense on O2 sensor prices.

Also Tacoma World members get 5% off at RockAuto. Use this thread for information on the current code and where to enter the discount code when you purchase.

"Please enter this code in the ‘How Did You Hear about Us’ box to receive the discount. Please enter ONLY the discount code, no other words or numbers. All orders are placed online and the discount code must be entered before an order is submitted to receive the discount."

Yeah forgot about our discount code. See my edit above. $60 markup on both. Advance is probably the worst parts store when it comes to marking up prices.

I have been buying all of my OEM parts form Camelback Toyota. Call their parts and ask for Amanda.

you will see the information you are looking for on this sticker under the hood, to the left of "CATALYST" section, last line
It lists the emissions system sensors/components, so if you see A/F S (like in this picture), it means your front sensor is actually an Air/Fuel sensor. If it was a regular o2 sensor, you'd see HO2S, like it is marked for the rear sensor. TWC = two way catalyst (catalytic converter)

oh, I just noticed you wrote you don't have this laber under the hood. Makes things a bit complicated....

Enter your VIN here and it will list all your truck's specs ->https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification

My hood was replaced prior to me but look at this. When I entered my vin into a Toyota dealership parts database it does say it’s a 99 BUT it calls for an a/f ratio sensor, not an O2. Unfortunate they don’t disclose the Denso number.

See why I’m pulling my hair out? This truck hasn’t run right in the 6 yrs I’ve owned it (when compared to couple other identical trucks) I wonder if this has been the center of my troubles.

Try putting that PN into Napa's part number interchange.

And over the years as I have played musical parts prior to buying my scanner I have replaced this a few times. Always asked for 02 sensor for 99 Tacoma 2.7, (online and at the chain stores) hmmmmm

found it, it's indeed an air/fuel sensor

    Denso part number : 2349001
This is what the toyota part number refers to

and actually, Air/Fuel and o2 sensor connectors aren't the same. The O2 sensor has a little tab on the side that you would need to file down if you wanted to connect it to the truck's A/F sensor connector

Yup. Although NAPA calls it an o2, it’s actually an a/f sensor. THIS IS HUGE . Man oh man.... thanks to all

This is the first time you included CALIFORNIA in your posts about O2 sensors.
