I currently have a 99 taco 3.4 v6 extended cab 4x4 and am pondering the thought of a 02ish double cab. I love my truck now but seems a little narrow. For those long fishing trips to the OBX, its a little cramped for me and my passenger. Just wanting some input if the 02's are a little bigger and if it would be a good upgrade. Thanks for any input!

Not sure about your question about the 02, but I just took my 98 extended cab to hatteras this thanksgiving and it is the perfect machine for those beaches, absolutely flawless in the ruts. I enjoy the trip every time we go and my cab seems plenty spacious imo. 4.5 hr ride, me and my dad do just fine. Just my experiences

the 01-04 double cabs are bigger, but they are not wider than your truck

Yeah ive made the OBX trips the past 3 or 4 years and I have no problems with the truck on the beach, its just a little cramped wth me and my buddy and all the gear for 3 or 4 nights. So i guess if im looking for a more roomy ride i would need to go 2nd generation? Still thinking of an 02 4 door though!
