Thanks for the advice... I purchased a complete drive shaft for manual tranny ext cab truck. I hope the crossmember is workable but I don't feel comfortable about welding a shelf as comatized suggested. I can do it, it's just the measurements. Like...is the tranny supposed to be exactly parallel to the ground? Or is there a slight tilt to the rear?

Thanks. And I am very much looking forward to a 5 speed in my extended cab. The ext cab is just way more comfy with more leg room. Lol. Thanks again... I will keep you all updated. Have great night night!

Isn’t there repinning that has to be done?

Or trace the wires and put the manual transmission plugs on and delete all auto trans plugs. Manual trans is way simpler... and having a manual ECU is the way I'm going. I just don't want to swap the whole wiring harness from 2 trucks. Lol. All the wires are there I've found just have to trace them

I didn't realize you didn't have Toyota wiring info. It's a must have. I have plenty of 99 wiring diagrams if you need.

I don't have a shop either, and both motor swaps, all 3 transmissions, and axle swap and everything else I've ever done to my truck has been on a gravel driveway.

Props to you, I feel your pain....

My ext cab don't have em. Gonna swap em over. I know they're hard to come by...I've looked but ones I've found are opposite, black on bottom with chrome above. I will be selling the auto A340F tranny with transfer, the auto ECU and like the shifter and brake pedal and all that.

A detailed build sheet would be cool. I’d love to do this, but have leaned away from it cause from my research it’s fairly involved.

I thought it would be more involved as well. I'll put together a sheet and post it. With pics as much as I can. I'll try to get it posted tomorrow.

Shit man congrats. So you're using the manuals ECU and no repinning was required?

That double crossmember is genius. The way I've seen it done is people cut out the center of the auto one and move it back and re-weld it with plates on each side

Yes... used the 98 manual ECU..No repinning... I wired the clutch start switch directly from the plug that plugged into the tranny, the one with the 8 wires, its blk/red and blk/what. I just took those two wires and added 2 extra feet and run it through the rubber plug in the driver floor straight to the clutch start switch on the panel. The O2 sensor plugs were the same, 4wd indicator was the same and speed sensor was the same.
Appreciate it. It turned out very solid.

That is really interesting how you didn't have to re-pin anything. All the swaps I've read through require some kind of re-pinning.

How did you run the slave cylinder?

Just factory. 3 holes, measured 100 times. Lol. Just ran the hard line down like it was on the other truck. Took the factory bracket off the donor truck and welded it to the same little ridge it was on. Then the soft line, and slave cylinder to transmission. I let it gravity bleed for about 4 hours. I had enough pedal to work the gears but I'm bleeding it properly tomorrow after the wife wakes up. She doesn't know it yet. :)

Best way to do the holes is buy gasket material and make a gasket then just outline it inside the cab. There's room for a dewalt cordless and a stepper bit. 1 3/16" is perfect size.
