I am looking for general info on how to lower my 1999 Tacoma. Need help on what kits to use, how to do it, what to consider, pros and cons on the kits. How can I get a kit and after buying it feel like... I should of lowered it more, OR shouldn't of lowered it too much. Please advice. Thank u all.

might get more help posting on customtacos. more people there are into lowering trucks. I honestly haven't done a lowered truck since 17 years ago when I did my brother's Nissan 720 pickup. I think we used a 4" block in the back with air shocks and just adjusted the torsion bars in the front until it was level with the back. Used some random brand name shorter shocks up front. it rode pretty rough, tho. Probably would've been better going with 3" in the back smooth it out some.

That kit looks like a pretty nice set up. I've never used belltech coils but I've heard a lot of good things about them. You may also want to look into Eibach coils as well. To go to a 3/4 drop would look pretty sweet but it just depends on your driving environment and how practical it will be for you. Even though it's only 1" more, it's crazy the amount of ground clearance you lose. I've read about some people also doing a ball joint flip up front. Not really sure how much this affects ride height but it could be worth looking into. You may be able to lower 2" with springs and lower further with the BJ flip afterwards. Not sure if that is exactly how it works but from what I've read I sounds like it. Looks like some guys go with Gabriel's or KYB's for shocks. Do some image searching as well just on google to get some ideas of what some of the kits look like after install. I did this quite a bit before lifting mine. Hopefully some of this helps.

yes its been years since Ive done the lowering thing 1986 Mitsubishi was the last truck I lowered , I have a 4x4 Suzuki sammi so no need to lift the truck , Just wanted to do another lowered.. Well I check & registered on the site you suggested , Cant say that they are a very helpful group over there but I did search around and got some ideas on a lowering set-up , Tried to get help on a wheel offset I wanted to order but no one would reply ,,, Thanks for giving me the info though , I believe Im going with the streetaco B/J 3/4 drop kit and drag dr31 17x8`s + 35 offset with KYB monomax shocks , Cant go too low as Arizona has some crappy roads here & there .
From what I read the B/J flip gives you 3" + it retains the OEM shock height so no need to run shorter shocks .
Yup your input helped a lot .. Thanks
