I’m gonna see about the 455’s. Hopefully another group buy works out :fingerscrossed:

Ive been considering touching base with the guys who just bought fic injectors to see if theyd be willing to sell a set of 455s for cheaper since they no longer need them. A good option if you do go this route! Not as good as flow matched, but still good imo since denso makes them

I thought of that too, if I can’t get FIC then that may be the ticket.

FIC can do a 445.... sounds pretty attractive for my purposes. I might see who else missed the first round and see if we can organize another GB.

I did see that, but I am running UCon so I think if I swapped to different injectors, Scott would have to write me a new tune.. Not really sure how that would work. While it is quite tempting to get some flow matched injectors and switch to HP, I think im gonna stick with what I've got for a while. I pulled the blower four times earlier this year within a two month period to figure out issues with it running lean after switching to 61lb injectors. Swapped back to 455s and haven't looked back lol. it was a traumatic experience:bananadead:

I bet! I wouldn’t want to go through that either. Looks like my cooling system project has been pushed back for me. If the group buy happens I’m gonna go ahead and do the billet fuel rails, and the filter as well so I can plumb it all pretty at the same time.

Sometimes I hate this place lol. I like limited run parts, even if I don’t really need them that much. I’ll be happy knowing I left no stone unturned though.

That billet fuel rail group buy is tempting too! This site is brutal for the pocketbook lol, I had to restrain myself from jumping in on that group buy.

I know im gonna regret not buying all the one-off parts later on.. :goingcrazy:

I was planning on knocking this out yesterday but life happened. I came home to a jungle after all the rain, with more on the way, so I spent yesterday mowing.

I’ve got some family obligations during the day today but I decided I would go ahead and tear everything apart for the cam gear install, these little engines really are easy to work on. Took about 45 minutes, but it will be ready for me to put the @mightytacoman cam gears in when I get back this evening. 590708AB-D844-4FD5-92C6-3E2B2F1FC0FC.jpg

Thanks man, hoping to get back soon so I can get it back together and try it out. I’m checking out an RTT trailer tomorrow and was hoping not to have to drive the dodge lol.

Found a new one that meets what I want, and what momma wants, we think. Been shopping for a while and finally found one worth looking at. I wouldn’t mind having a trailer for the SPI run, depends on if I really like it. If the trucks not ready, which it should be, I’m pretty sure my dually can handle 2k lbs

Cam gears are in after a few hiccups. I followed the online directions and completely missed the fact I was one tooth off on one side. It was my fault, I was joking around with my wife, and playing with the kids while working, I flat missed it. So after round two, the truck seems very happy, and the prelim data logs look good. I will be logging tomorrow with more throttle but easing around the county roads felt really good. A big thanks to the TW crew, that I won’t bomb with a tag, for helping me out.

Here are a couple of videos showing where I went wrong, I hope they will help someone else.

And finally the new under hood look

I shot the cam covers in crinkle finish red before I left this morning. They did not turn out wonderful so I’ll probably see if I can find a set to have powder coated.

Well, truck will be down for a bit. I decided to pull the cam covers again after hearing a bit of noise. I don’t like how one of the chain tensioner looks so I’m waiting on a set that won’t be here until I’m back at work. Gonna go ahead and put U-joints and carrier in, and hopefully the new belt and idlers will arrive so they can go on too.
