The filter would stay where it is in the box but the snorkel will feed to the part that sticks into the fender. Should provide a lot of nice cool air.

Ohhh okay, so does the airbox pretty much have to be sealed up since the filter stays in the engine bay? Think im starting to put it together

Yup you got it. The snorkel is sealed to the box so the only place that open is at the other end of it. It shouldn’t be that hard to fab up, I don’t think.

Yes sir. I’ve got the version 2 tune running, it feels pretty strong. I’m curious to see what the numbers say with just a tune.

Yeah I’m thinking +15ish base tune. After that will be intake, throttle body, exhaust, cam gears, and fuel pump with new tune. Hoping to beat the 250 the URD kit claims.

I’m thinking the same way. It should be pretty peppy when it’s all said and done.

Picked up a Meso roof Molle panel from a fellow member. I got it painted and installed with replacement grab handles today. Trauma kit is mounted and I’ve got a few other things gonna be going up there. It’s really hard to get a good pic of this thing but I’m really impressed with the quality of this piece.

Alright guys, the baseline dyno on a completely stock 08 4x4 is done. While I was expecting a little more peak gain to show, there just isn’t much that can be done with a stock setup I guess. It should be noted that I have seen a 1.5 mpg increase and my drivability score is much higher than stock. Below is the pdf and here are what they mean.

    Runs 1&2 - @JustDSM tune V101
    Runs 3&4 - Stock
    Runs 5&6 - @JustDSM tune V1

    231FC54B-9FDA-4587-A1F7-901D954B8793.jpg

While I can’t say it’s huge HP gains, hell its negligible to be honest. I do like where the small gains happen and I’m much more happy with the way the truck runs now vs when I bought it. I will be doing basically the URD stage 4 NA package next and letting Justin tune it to see if we can match (hopefully beat) the +50 numbers advertised. Huge thanks to @JustDSM for getting me started and being such a great help to all.

The bolt on mods started officially today in the quest for more HP. I know all the things said about the TRD intake.... here’s why I don’t give a shit :)

1- I like the way it looks, I don’t care if you get it, it works for me.
2- easy to adapt to a 70mm TB with a 4Runner tube available on eBay.
3- I got a good deal from a TW buddy that helped him and me.
4- Will work perfectly with a snorkel.

    So suck it:D

Very NICE! I really love the headers, but the install is a chore on the 12+ trucks. Still probably a pain on your earlier truck but at least you don't have to deal with the SAI tubes getting in the way.

Have you picked up a throttle body yet?

Not yet. I was hoping to snag one this weekend but it doesn’t look promising, so I’ll probably order it. Looking at an lkq takeoff from a T4R.
