I guess this will change a bit now. Guess I have a particular look I go for that is not model dependent.

Bit of an impulse buy when seeing it locally after months of looking for the perfect first gen with no luck. Picked it up with 149k on the clock and oxidation supreme super white paint for a steal.

Took all of a day, and I stumbled across a good deal on some Sema wheels while getting the wife’s oil changed, 4 wheels and tires made the trip home in the back of the T4R.
    CAE57D7F-EC75-4FA0-B54B-3495CDE6911E.jpg
Actually scored them for $900 out the door.

So, day two of ownership, and now both Yotas have matching wheels.

The paint correction was the biggest chore to date. I bought the truck because the paint was not great, I didn’t want something I would worry about scratching. I decided to see if I could improve it any at all. Well a bunch of clay bar, compound, polish, and wax later, the paint looks so good I don’t want anything to happen to it... dammit lol.

Suspension... most likely not the final setup. Installed 3/27/2019.

Toytec 620# Coils Bilstein 5100’s all the way around, fronts on second clip (I know, not recommended... The ride is decent and I don’t care what the rules are lol)
1/4” Headstrong spacer for driver lean
Readylift 2” AAL on TSB Leaf Pack

Overall for the budget price, I’m happy with the results. Aligned well enough, rides way better than 150k stock stuff, handles really well. Will probably upgrade eventually but time will tell.

Next was minor stuff. New headlight buckets, full leds up front except the headlights, with switchback DRL’s.

While I was at it, changed the diffs and tcase oil with Amsoil.

A few days later added some Baja Designs fogs from Rago Fab.

Wheels and good quality tires for $900 bucks?! That's a steal! A set of 4 285 KO2 tires is $800ish before tax.

Yeah, it was too good to pass up. I was planning on doing other stuff first but at that price I just couldn’t say no. Dealer are good for something I guess lol.

Front bumper, camper shell, sliders, and skids in that order are next For big stuff.

I’ve got some small projects in the works like a custom wrapped steering wheel, stereo, and what not that will be mixed in as well. And probably anything else cool that catches my squirrel like attention at the moment lol.

Got the sport grill in today, So I blacked out the badge and slapped it in. Also painted the engine cover thanks to @Oldie2007 lol. My paint didn’t take very well so I’m calling it a proof of concept on the color scheme to take it in and have it done in vinyl.

The war on chrome only is down to the final piece, the back bumper.

Thanks for the :hattip:brother! I roughed it all up with that 3M pad I had for the paint - and the paint sticks pretty well. Rustoleum plastic primer, then the color. What wouldn't stick for me was the darn tape. But you now in the "cool open hood" group!

I roughed it up but I think the detailer I’ve been using under the hood soaked in deep and I didn’t get it all. I really dig the way it looks.

Looks sharp as a tack with the white on black. Wish my hood stayed that clean, but I noticed this week, I don't have any cover over the "center of the shock" area! Don't know if it was removed, or just never there. Doesn't look "modded" from below.

That’s strange, I would think it would have been there from the factory. I’ve scrubbed mine down pretty hard, I plan to put the dynamat hoodliner in at some point so I want to make sure I can keep it clean lol.
