If you don't own a TRD off road chances are you have the flimsy sheet metal recovery point ( tow hook ). I replaced mine with a standard HD tow hook. You can get these at any auto parts store, eBay, Amazon, harbor freight, etc. now it is a direct fit, no drilling. It does sit at an angle but is much better. You can use your stock bolts but they are kind of short. I got some longer ones and used 12x1.25x55. 10.9. The hooks are about $8-$10 each. I originally mounted it with the hook facing down but didn't like how low it hung. So I flipped it and like it better that way. Thought I'd share. Enjoy

Can you get a snatch strap on it? I bought a TRD OR tow hook from a member. It works great with a strap. I hope yours does too. Nice price.

Yes sir. There is an opening between the hook and the frame just big enough.

So I have since trimmed the tip off a little so there is enough clearance to get a strap through. I never tried to get a d ring through there. I tried today and It will not fit due to the angle. Thanks @Dangerousd1987

I got my recovery hook from fb Fabrication yesterday. It gives you plenty of space to get a snatch strap in. And it's not flimsy. Sprayed it blue. 20180716_160257.jpg 20180716_173023.jpg 20180716_172952.jpg
