Your system is likely slightly undercharged.

Does it eventually stop, then have very reduced airflow?

That's a symptom of an eval icing over. Usually due to a bad thermistor

    Reserected from the dead.
If the outside humidity is very high and you do not have the AC mode switched to recirculation, you can get frost out the vents.

My Aunt had a Dodge “R12” of some kind don’t remember the model it was but it blew frost out the vents. They wasn’t anything wrong with it but cold ass air.

The evaporator wasn’t freezing up cause it would do it on a three hundred mile trip and the CFM would never change.

Same. My A/C is horrendous when driving around town. It does get much better on the freeway.

You can do it pretty easily yourself though- I ended up doing it because I didn’t want them doing all the work behind my dash that Toyota prescribed. So add your own fan, a simple relay off the battery and a switch in the cab and it’s done and it will work a lot better.

Thank you for the tip. So, is this right, just adding a second fan to the radiator improves my a/c temp?

Yes, it’s exactly the same fix Toyota does for that TSB except they go into a lot more trouble to make the fan run automatically whenever your AC compressor is on, but a lot of of us here bypassed all that and just did it ourselves with a relay and a switch.

This is the set I got, I was going to install both but I got lazy and only did the passenger side due to the oil cooler getting in the way. But it works a lot better now with even just one, and I have a spare to use as a replacement or for other things.
