So I took the tacoma in HB Auto and AC in hunting beach since I was experiencing want A/C. The passenger side would be warm and driver side would be cool but not super cold. Seems like it’s the condenser that is leaking. $1200 job to replace it. That includes the diagnostic, labor, re-diagnostic, and parts. Not happy it only last 77k miles.

Is the condenser leaking at a puncture point from road debris?

He just said it was leaking. I wanted to see if he could send pictures of it to post here.

Turns out the condenser had a fairly good leak in it. Couldn’t tel if a rock or something cracked it because how dirty the whole bottom half was. Ended up running $1158 to replace everything and fill it up with R1234YF. Went with an aftermarket TYC condenser

I wonder what that refrigerant cost per lb?

Same, I forgot to ask but I read online it’s about $120 per pound. Cali prices are probably higher

I asked because I thought it was special or rare. I searched and it’s all over the place. Even Amazon has it for around $50 a can which I believe is 12oz
