Today in So Cal it was 100 where I live. I noticed that my clutch is kind of loud when it kicks in. Has anyone noticed this with their V6 truck?

    Thanks!

Not on mine. I can never tell when the AC clutches in and out, period. Maybe the oil is going bad. Have you ever serviced your AC? Some refridgerants wont mix with certain AC pump oils.

I will check it out. I can hear my clutch kick in when I put it on defrost mode at low fan speed as well.

When I kick on the A/C after being off for a day or so, the sound that comes from the clutch is awful, so loud that it can be heard over the radio. There is no doubt an issue with the clutch, I just have not had time to take it in yet.

The only noise from mine is the RPM's go up a bit if I'm at idle when it comes on but no compressor noise

What kind of noises are you guys talking about?? Describe the sound. If its just a clicking sound (not so much a 'clanking' sound) then I wouldn't worry about it. Some compressors make a high pitched tweet too.

I think the sound may be the compressor cycling more than usual.

It's always over 100 here. Had the baby 3 summers, no problems while running A/C.
    Have the Auto-tranny btw
