G'day. I posted earlier about a Derale fan and controller that I installed on my '09. Having an issue to troubleshoot. Someone on here sent me a pic of the underhood relay/fuse box with the location of the spot that I eventually used as the trigger for the controller so the fan would run when the A/C was on. I will do another search, but haven't found it. Any help would be great. Cheers, Dave

That being said, I need to know if that tap is a 12v feed as I'm trying to trigger the fan to see if the fan still works and then move on with the troubleshooting

If your referring to the Violet wire from the other thread that's going to have Power when the compressor is running.

Yes, that's the one. Just wanted to make sure it was 12 volts so I can jumper it to test the fan. A/c trigger wire used to initiate the fan, but after I just had the A/C completely completely redone at the dealer, now it doesn't. Took the truck for a long drive up a hill and the fan wouldn't kick in on heat. However, the air temp was just below freezing and the fan is set to kick in about 5 or 10 degrees above the thermostat opening. So, I will do a more positive troubleshoot. Unfortunately during all this, I read some reviews of the Derale controllers :-/

So the Violet wire is the trigger ac clutch on?

Dave, I'm planning to do same, installing additional fan between ac condenser and intercooler.
Regardless that wire 12v or not, definitely you need relay on the fan system and you can get 12v straight from battery.
