On start-up around 20 degrees i heard the distinct angry noise of compressor slugging. My a/c condensor was recently replaced, so i’m assuming they didn’t vacuum it for long enough, or added too much PAG oil, or something of the sort.

However, from my previous days as a Ford Technician, i know they called it normal on the 5.4l 3v expeditions — and realistically it shouldn’t even be coming on at such low temperatures... likely they just leave the clutch engaged on startup to lubricate the seals

Is it normal on these tacos, or is it one of about 60 things i should bring the truck back to the body shop for (incredible incompetence on so many things)
