Here is my thoughts on the subject. Does a new Tacoma do this or is it only after years of ac operation? If it is after years of operation then it is probably an air flow issue. The air box should not be ice cold nor the air ducts, they should be about 45 deg F. So what would make the air box cold? 1. Low air flow (due to either a blocked evap coil located in the air box or due to a blower that has clogged vanes). 2. An over or under charge of the ac refrigerant that could make the evap coil colder than design). In order to clean the evap coil, the system would need to be taken apart. I have worked on ac systems that are 10 years old and the evap coil, air box and blower normally have debris in them that effects the air flow. I would clean all of these items before putting system back together. The evap coil can get very clogged between the thin fins and to clean, it realy needs to be removed from the air box.

Just a quick update. I had the truck into the dealership last weekend for one of the freebie services and told my service writer about what happened. The tech blew out the a/c condensate line and said it didn't seem clogged, but this way we know for sure it's clear. They said if it happens again they want the truck in to hunt further, but it hasn't done it again since that one and only time last month. Fingers crossed! :)

An intermetant clog on the drain line could cause the issue of condensate on the air box. An air box with a lot of cold water in it could lead to condensation on the outside of the box. Good luck with it maybe that is the end of condensation issue
