I've been disconnecting the battery to my 2011 Tacoma to remove the door panels for a dynamat project. I have always had to reset the clock and the radio/sirius presets when I reconnect the battery but that's it. Today I turned on the A/C and I find out it's not working. I press the A/C button and the button lights up but the air that's blowing is the same temperature as when the a/C is turned off. If I turn the temperature up, the air gets hotter and if I turn the temperature down it drops but it's not A/C cold air. Is there a simple reset procedure like a "stick the key in the ignition and remove it three times, open the tail gate the start the ignition" that will get my A/C going again or am I going to need to take it in?

Oh and you forgot the "turn around to the left three times and hop to the right two times" part...

The A/C in my 2011 was doing the same, no cold air. I took it in on Friday and they said the seals were bad, no refrigerant in the system. New seals are on order.

Had your A/C been working? How many miles are on your truck? Mine was working fine up until last week (last time I turned on the a/C) and I only have 7300 miles on the truck.

Afe CAI (removed back to stock intake), TSB 4 leaf pack with Firestone Air Bags and Daystar cradels, 3rd OEM HU, Wranger All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar 265/75/16, Cali raised LED pods, Wheeler Off Road Front Bump Stops.
When I installed my CAI, my A/C didn't work either. Turned out I was missing a plug on the CAI box so it was sucking in engine bay temperature air throwing off the MAF intake temp reading making the computer think we're driving through a super hot area so it shuts off the A/C system to decrease the load on the engine preventing over heating.

Re-installed the plug, reset the computer by pulling the neg cable on the battery, and all was fine.

No sure if this helps, but just sharing my story on my A/C not working after a simple install.

Everytime I have disconnected the battery on my v-6 2009 for any work, the air conditioner has taken 10 -15 minutes to 're-adjust' itself somehow. Not sure what info it loses with power disconnection, but eventually everything starts working fine, usually after highway driving speeds. Try yours again maybe pushing a few related buttons off and on.

It did work several months ago, the last time I turned it on. I have 22K miles on it, bought 6/15/11.

Thanks to you and everyone else for your suggestions. I discovered my problem with the A/C when I was driving from LA up to Sacramento on Mother's Day Eve. I live near the beach so I hadn't used the A/C recently. As soon as I hit the San Fernando Valley, I turned on the A/C to find it wasn't working. That was around 2:00 pm. I drove through the Central Valley turning the A/C on and off, up and down and nothing worked. I just kept the windows down and tried to keep it around 80 mph. Around 8:00 pm the outside temperature dropped below 90 for the first time--no air conditioning for three hundred miles or so.

When I got to my destination, I took a cold shower and posted the OP. The next morning I had a glimmer of hope with the suggestion to check the fuses. I pulled the fuse for the A/C and it was fine. So that wasn't it. I put the fuse back, turned on the truck and the A/C worked. It's worked ever since. I don't know what happened that fixed but damn I wish it had happened around Bakersfield.

This has happened to me as well, after disconnecting the battery and hooking it back up I found the A/C not working. After driving about 10-15 miles it kicked back on... its only happened that one time...
