I don't know about HVAC so I need advice. There is a new "noise" when the A/C blower is on higher speeds and the passenger floor vent is spitting bits of insulation. I expect that there is some loose insulation in the vent ducting. I may be able to R and R the blower to clear the ducting but I don't even know how the insulation got there so I don't know how much I can remove without creating new problems. Ideas??? Thanks......GB

Hmm !!! I would have never thought of that. I don't think so as I have two, quite vigilant cats who visit my garage occasionally. I will definitely look into that possibility. Thanks for the idea.

I got it all apart and cleaned out. While the blower was out, I could see that the intake air path, while convoluted, is not filtered or even screened. I expect that I picked up some "trash" insulation from the highway. The blower fan was packed tightly with insulation. I could get my hand up through the path to the engine side of the firewall.

To rule-out mice (thanks for the suggestion) I surrounded the truck with mouse traps last night. None of them were disturbed. The task was actually quite easy. Thanks for the consideration. GB

Glad you figured out! Need to start a thread in "off topic", random stuff mice drag back to their nests. Had a classic "Jerry hole" at work. That mouse dragged tissues, coffee stirrer, a screw and anything that couldn't be dragged in were left in a pile around the hole. Have heard of rat bait being moved and stockpiled in drawers. Little guys will be trapped and drag themselves to a safe spot. One member found a mouse double trapped dragging himself to the kill trap. Resilient little guys.
    Glad it wasn't mice!
