I open all the windows for a minute then close them again. In the summer 9/10 times it's cooler outside then inside my truck.

*This is to replace all the hot air in the truck. Truck cools down quicker this way for me

Yep. Use the whole can. Make sure they have it in stock. My local places they have to order it in.

You don't need any of this air freshener shit if you just make it a practice to switch it to fresh air mode occasionally. Haven't had odor issues since I started doing that.

maybe not manure...but I had a stale musky smell from my AC. I went to Pep Boys and bought the AC deodorizer bomb, it was like $6. I can't remember the brand, but NOT the type you spray into the vents, that stuff is pointless. You spray it into the vent and the system pushes it right out.

This one you set right at the AC air intake dealy, under the passenger footwell. Put the AC on full blast, press the button on the can, and close your car door. Let it sit that way for 10-15 minutes while this stuff goes off (the can will spray for a couple minutes straight, the rest is to let it work through the system). Then open the doors and let it air out for about 15 minutes.

So it takes like a half hour, but I just sat there with a beer while I let the stuff work its magic in the driveway. Eliminated odor, and left a very nice "fresh" scent for a few weeks. It actually lasted longer than most air fresheners. I use it every six months or so now. It works great, and its cheap. I need to get a can for the wife's car, I'll let you know what the brand is.

Never tried through the cabin air. It's easy for our trucks though, just slide under the truck, don't even need to lift it up and stick it in the drain tube

I believe that's the actual tip from Toyota to fix it. Someone posted a link a while back.

I've actually noticed this a few times in my 2nd gen (2014) after I got it. Usually after the weather warms up and I first turn the AC on. I literally checked the bottom of my shoes when I got the whiff. New cabin filter or not.

It wasn't as strong as strong as manure but distinctive - similar I guess. Between weird and new smell.

I don't smell it anymore and I've done none of the above.

Center console divider thingy, rubber bed mat and side steps for the wife.
Our Avalon does the same thing and had the same complaints when it came out. Defaults to recirc. mode and rarely changes.. What I do is manually change to outside air when I use the A/C.. My vette and the Camry I had would start in recirc and change to outside air after a bit.
