I went ahead and picked up a new resistor and blower motor and installed both, the pig tail came in so I have a new plug installed. I disconnected the resistor and turned on the truck and the 50 amp fuse blows. What the hell.

Are you sure you wired the pigtail correctly? Get a picture of your splices and post it.

The only other suggestion I have is to start at the fuse and start checking the wires for a short to ground with a DMM.

If you installed the updated pigtail and resistor your splices should be like this:

    Green/Yellow - Green
    White/Black - White/Black
    Blue/Black - Blue
    White/Blue - White

I plan on having time this weekend to look at the wiring and was wondering if any one has any idea which wires in the fuse box feed the blower motor or how the wires from the blower motor are traced back to the fuse box?

50 ampere fuse >> Red Wire >> Heater Relay Pin 5 >> Heater Relay Pin 3 >> Blower Motor Connector Yellow Wire.

White Wire w/Blue Strip from Blower Motor >> Goes to Speed Resistor >> Through Speed Switch to Ground OR on High Setting it bypasses the resistor and through the speed switch to ground.

    See drawing below.
