Only the maglight mod, mounted on floor drivers side, billet antenna and have lined all storage under rear seats with rubber to keep the rattling to a minimum.
Today my A/C stopped blowing on every setting except high. It still blows cold just only works on high. Any ideas why? I'm hoping it's as simple as the blower motor going out. It's an 07' with 97K on it.

My '06 started doing that this summer. Sometimes the lower settings work for a bit, then it will just stop, but it always works on high (thank god). I'm writing it off to the age of the blower, the fact that I live in AZ and use it a LOT, and that they are just weak to begin with. Something about not getting enough amps to hit the threshold to run the lower blower settings. There's supposed to be a hack out there to replace some resistors so you can get more power to it, but there are also replacement blowers with more power anyways. I'm looking to just replace mine when it dies and get a stronger one.

I'm gonna go digging under the dash this evening when the sun goes down a little. Found a write up that explains how to take out the blower and disassemble it, clean the motor and reassemble it. Here's the link:fingerscrossed:

I've done that a time or two and it works good for about a year.

It's more likely the blower motor resistor, but I could be wrong. The usual problem with the motor is noise.

It takes very little debris in that blower motor to make it really inefficient. I was surprised at the crap I had in mine. The first spray of compressed air blew stuff out even before I took it apart. I used graphite powder to lubricate it when I reassembled it and that seemed to really help. I'm overdue to clean mine again.

:notsure:What the heck, I'll just replace the resistor while I clean the motor.

Agreed. I should do this to mine and see if it gets stronger again, too.

My fan did this too. The blower motor resistor is by the passenger's left toes (2009 regular cab 4wd). All I had to do was clean the contacts and it works. An easy fix I spent much longer looking it up than fixing it.

The replacement part is cheap enough, but if merely cleaning the one that's in place does the trick, then Ill probably do that everytime I clean the cabin filter.

image.jpg image.jpg Just ordered the blower motor resistor+wiring harness and new blower motor from rock auto. All three items with shipping were less than $75. $24 for resistor and wiring harness $36 for the blower motor plus tax & shipping. Every parts store around me either didn't have one item or the other in stock and if they did have something it was easily double the price compared to rock auto. Example-advance would have to order the resistor price $62 but didn't even carry the wiring harness. Napa had the resistor in stock price $49 didn't carry the wiring harness either. O'rielly didn't even know what I was asking for! Auto zone would have to order everything price $64 for the resistor $32 for the wiring harness. Seriously! Parts stores need to rcognize that Toyota Tacomas are the most popular trucks on the road in this country and start carrying parts for them. This is retarded!! Thank God for Rock auto!

Just did this repair when my Taco was doing the same thing. Bought the resistor off Amazon for $29.

Bullshit! Payment cleared yesterday and an email today says they're sorry but the website misrepresented the in stock products. The resistor and harness are out of stock (of course that's what I need). Damn!!!

This is exactly what is happening to mine.
How would you know if the resistor is bad? The connector is fried, complete smoke checked. It may be from the kids putting their feet on it...
Don't want to replace the resistor if the harness just needs to be replaced.

I clean my resistor with a tooth pick inside the terminals and it works on all settings. It'll last a couple months and then I just unplug it and clean again.

    Coming soon!
My 2013 started with the only working on high about three months ago. Resistor from stealership was $30, so I replaced it and still had intermittent issues. Cleaned the contacts on the harness, added a dab of dielectric grease, and it's been working great ever since...until today. After toying around with it again, I've narrowed it down to being a connection issue inside the connector on the harness. If I hold the wires just so, it works fine, but when I release it, it quits again.

Anybody know where to get the connector to replace? Can't see any way to undo the current connector and splice it back together. Thoughts?
