Got in the truck tonight to drive to work and found out the a/c only works in high. A/C on or off the fan only blows on high. I'm thinking it's a blower motor resistor but I just wanted to get a bit of input from y'all before I go and buy one

Aux back up lights, Bed lights, Re-located trailer plug, Good dooby, a.k.a. jumper cable mod, Heated seats, back up camera,
Check the resistor connector. One of the wires will probably show signs of being over heated. You can buy a kit with a new connector and resistor at Auto zone.

Easy fix. Probably resistor. Beats having a leak or bad compressor.

    It is the resistor.
Make sure you order the updated version when you purchase.

Might be the plug connection has burned instead of the resister. Wiggle the plug to see if it comes back on, I've repinned my plug twice. There's a "How to" on here if you search.

I'll check the wires first to see if they're burnt or anything

How do I make sure I get the updated version of the resistor

    I got mine on eBay.
Also yes I had a burnt plug end and wire had gotten hot.
I cleaned it up and it worked for about 6 months. Then I got the updated part and been good for a few years

On Tacos, it's usually not the resistor, it's the connectlor at the resistor or the connector at the blower motor. It was the latter for me; the female connector in the wiring harness fried from a loose connection. Replacing the resistor will sometimes work, not because the resistor is bad but because you move the connector enough to establish a new contact point. So, check the connectors first and look for brown/black discoloring; that will indicate a bad connection.

Here is how to test the resistor and some pics of bad connections.

All the parts you will need to correct the burned plugs and the crappy resistor:

    Part number 90980-10916 Connector

Part Number 82998-12380 Wire and terminal

Not sold as a kit, sold as each. So you will need one of the plugs and two of the terminal and wires.

    Connector:

    Terminals:

You may also have a burned resistor connector and may need these:

    Plug Number 82141-04M40
    Resistor Number 87138-04052
