    I'll say this. Replacing the evap core is a royal pain in the ass. But I am not that mechanically inclined and was able to get it done.

    With that said take it to a professional shop to have all the refrigerant evacuated from the system first. It is illegal in the US to purposely vent it directly to the atmosphere.

    The evap core cost me 75 bucks from the dealership
    A set of AC manifold gauges were like 60 from harbor freight
    A vacuum pump from harbor freight was another 75.

    Yep. They had them for both the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen Tacomas.

    TRD stopped selling them but they were actually made for TRD by Magnuson.

    Magnuson now makes them under their name and they are still available.
