My new to me 2015 Access Cab has an A/C issue. The air is on all the time unless the fan switch is off. It doesn't matter where the temperature dial is et, the A/C stays on. I'm wondering if the button is bad? Does it click? Mine does not click or stay in or out. I'm hoping that it is just the button.
    Thanks for any help!

Does it matter where you set your mode dial?

The switch is just a momentary switch, it doesn't stay in or out.

If the dials and/or switch don't change the A/C status we need to do some checks.

Check the voltages at the HVAC actuators as outlined in the post below.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2nd-gen-information-diagnostics.784008/#post-28042158

Also check that the switch is working, the switch should momentarily ground Pin 13 Grey of Connector A23 on the back of the HVAC Controls.

Where do have the blend door dial set? I believe if you have it set to any position that puts air on the windshield the ac will run to prevent fogging on the glass.

Yes, the air stays on in every position of the selector except off. Yes the A/C light is on and it does blow cold air. When I get a chance I will read through the posted link. I think at least some of it is above my mechanical ability, but I am trying to learn to do more myself and I think a Tacoma is a great vehicle to learn on.
Thanks for the replies and hope to post some results soon.

Pretty simple stuff to check, all you need is a meter and backprobes or t-pins/sewing needles.

I kind of need a road map to find that.

When I say meter I mean digital multimeter, you should be able to find a decent one for under $20

Backprobes are just basically needles that can connect to test leads, you can use a sewing needle or T-pin just the same for basic checks.

The post I linked above shows the location of the blend door actuators, wire colors, and what they should read, scroll down and click on the spoilers.

If those check out good well have to do other checks.

I must be an idiot because I can't find in the thread where the contacts are located. Is the access under the dash? Behind the glove box? Sorry!
