Are there any good ac shops in the east valley? Need a repair to my first Gen tacoma ac, making a loud screech/squealing when I turn ac on

    Any suggestions would be great
    Thanks

Sure it’s not a belt or pulley going bad?

Like he said, possibly loose/worn belt or tensioner bearing seized. Had the bearing seize on one of my trucks. Check that first before paying a ton at a shop.

installed a new idler pulley and when I turn the ac on the AC clutch tries to catch and makes a very loud squealing and stops when I turn the ac off

    Aka Idler.

Sounds like the pump is giving up or the shims under the clutch are somehow damaged or missing. Idk on this one.

So when I look at the compressor it clicks on and starts to spin but is sputtering and screaming loudly and when it stops the ac gets cold but since I changed the idler pulley it just screams and sputters now, worse possible time to have problems

Hit up Eddie @ Forza Automotive in Tempe. They're off McClintock and University. Tell him Andrew sent you. Good group of guys there. They specialize in high end alignments but do full service repairs at a fair price and won't dick you around with a bunch of stuff you don't need.

I used to All Start Electric to replace my entire A/C system in my 86 Yota. Very honest and quick turn around. Shop operated by a bunch of old timers and the lot is usually full of cool classic cars.

Would you send your daughter when she calls and says "dad, my a/c takes a long time to cool down, is there a quick fix you can do?" to each of them?

That's what this thread is about.. I've sent other people to them for less and they got them fixed up without a hassle.

Thanks and agreed - all the mechanics/repair places I've had good experience with are in the NW valley. And she was hesitant to go alone, had a bad experience at the AAA place close to ASU. Actually heard them talking in the back "she won't know" about replacing radiator hoses.

That's not cool. I've been going there for alignments for 15+ years and always had a great experience. Sent a bunch of friends there for various services and they all had great things to say. They do like making money, but they are too busy to try to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need. They're not a dealership lol.
