A/C Whistles

Greetings!!

I’m the proud new owner of a 2018 Silver Sky Metallic Double Cab TRD Sport V6 4x4 M6! Just picked it up from the dealer last night.

After driving it around and putting about 200 miles on it, I noticed a high-pitched whistle at certain times of acceleration or deceleration while the A/C is on. With the A/C off the sounds completely went away. I’ve seen other threads posted but haven’t found an answer I’m looking for.

Answer is, if you take it in to your dealer they will say, "We tested other tacomas like yours and found they also have the noise. We also called Toyota and they said it is normal and a characteristic of the vehicle."

 

Expansion valve. (Post 18 in link above)

Turn up the radio.

 

I forgot to add my local dealer said it was the expansion valve opening to let refrigerant through.
