I rode in a friend of mine's Hyundai this weekend and the front seats had air conditioning, being summer in TN and temps averaging 90-95 this seemed like a good idea.

I know this is not an option for Tacos, but let's act like money is no option: What would I have to do and how much would it cost to do this on my '17 SR5? Find some F150 seats and hope they fit (which they probably don't)?

I recently rented a Yukon that had this. It is a feature I will pay for. I didn't know I needed it until I tried it. It's awesome!

If I recall, there are vents below the front seats for the back passengers. You can probably take advantage of that fact. I have seen some inlay ducting and fans that just require cutting a channel in the foam for the upper and lower seat.

You may be right about the vents below the seats, but I have a feeling that because I've got an Access Cab I probably don't.

Cooled seats are quite nice. I would trade my heated seats for cooled.

Limited 4runners have this feature as well. Those might fit more easily than F150 seats, and I think all you'd have to do is wire the switch and pull power.

Yeah.... I filled out the form on Katzkin and my local installer should be getting back to me with a quote. But Katzkin said $2k. I just want to know if this is something I should save up for or just forget about completely. At $2k, it's the latter.

Lexus RX 350 seats in my sister's 2010 have this feature. might be worth looking into a seat swap out of one of those

I looked up the ones from the video (LeatherSeats.com) and they are $350 per seat.

$350/seat isn't bad... Need leather? Or would the TRD seat material be just fine for it.

Is has to be perforated leather/foam I think. I'm not sure if our trucks have that, and if they don't how much that adds to the $350 (which is for the cooler only).

From what I read, the factory seats would be fine. If leather, needs perforated. I also found this video for the Katzkin Degreez install... looks like the same materials are used, so probably the same supplier.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcwuF2_Sy9o

    UPDATE:

From the manufacturer: These units require perforation and flow foam to function. They will work with factory upholstery as long as the material is perforated and has some form of flow foam.

Given that the stock seats are cloth with very little backing, they should work just fine. I doubt the factory leather will as it is not perforated. I know the Clazzio use a perforated center panel, so those should be fine as well.

My Wife's Highlander has them. They are okay, but take a while to cool down. I am fine not having them because I do not have leather seats. Cloth is fine in the summer. If I had leather, I would want the ventilation in the seats.
