I purchased a 2012 DCSB TRD OR in November of 2017 to be used as a daily because my 2003 Dodge was really becoming a money pit due to repairs.

    IMG_1150 (3).jpg
2 weeks after buying the truck I took it off-road for the first time and my life was changed. This truck could not stay just a daily driver any longer. It was destined to explore far and wide.
image1 (1).jpg One week after the initial beach run, I impulse bought a set of 4runner trail wheels ($600) and street tires and did BHLM (approx. one day and a can of spray paint)
    image2 (1).jpg
Around tax season, I started a turnaround at work and ordered a Pelfreybilt steel bumper.
    image3.jpg
Also picked up a set of 265/65/17 Wrangler Duratracs brand new for $500.
Still contemplating what to do next.... grille, lights for the bumper, suspension??? hmmm, have to see where the overtime checks lead me.

School is out for the break and I finally had time to install the Element LED 20” light bar and pods in the bumper, and have begun pricing suspension options.

Picture is from a trip last weekend. A group of us made a quick run down the washed out 87 Highway, running from Winnie, TX to Port Arthur, TX

0851CAFE-A9C5-460A-97EC-8DB975AD6FE7.jpg Installed Bilstein 6112 & 5160s over the weekend, running an Icon Progressive AAL. Left to right is roughly 1/8 inch off due to “taco lean” and front to back is off roughly 1/2 inch due to the removal of the overload spring.

Will be getting 285/70R17 Cooper Discoverer STT Pro’s installed this evening, fingers crossed they don’t rub.

Interested in seeing the STT Pro's after the install...I'm running the same suspension and thinking about that same setup next.

    Your truck looks great!

Be careful though, mods can turn into a runaway train.

Very nice looking truck, and a fun project! I remember working on my first truck through college and it was a lot of fun to tackle weekend projects with friends. Good luck with the build

@jbclarke16 the 285’s rubbed on the uca, now debating between going with a different wheel or replacing the uca‍

It was definitely a whole weekend project, the cold front here in southeast Texas made it hard for us to move very fast:(

Should be done with the B.S. in May of 2020. So far debt free and interning for decent money, hopefully this trend continues:fingerscrossed:

Hmm, gotcha! Have you considered spacers? I had the same issue with my 285 KO2's but a spacer solved that issue.

I’m really trying to avoid spacers, I’m not real gentle with the truck

Will more than likely start with UCA’s and if that doesn’t work then it’s wheels and CMC.
