I actually tried to myself, and I did get a couple out, but it is so extensive that I wasn't really doing much. Plus, a lot of the dents are close to golfball size which PDR won't fix.

Awesome! I buy all my Toyota trucks wrecked too. It has saved me a huge amount of money over the years.

Good story! It's nice to see some young people with the gumption to do what you did. Saving up for what you can afford is smart.
You should be proud of it and since it's so good mechanically, I'd say you did just fine.
    Keep up the good work!

I wouldn't worry about the hail damage for now bro. You have a nice ride. I wouldn't spend $$$ on 'kinda' fixes right now. Later on, if you have extra cash laying around, tear the truck down, get some 'new' body panels, and have a shop fix the rest of the 'dings' in the cab and bed and repaint the parts, panels and cab and bed properly.

    Them reassemble the truck.

Lol, don't worry about dents in the roof, your right! No one sees it and I dented the 'you know what' out of it AGAIN carrying gear on top not long after the last time I had body reworked and new paint. Waste of money! Lol!

Yeah it’s much cheaper to replace and paint panels than it is to fix them. Probably gonna respray the entire truck though

I made the shift knob! And the headlights are DEPO but they’re honestly pretty shitty. I picked up some new OEM headlights today and im restoring the lenses then installing (already did the bottom one)

There is no bigger gambler then us wreck builders.

My last 4 Toyota trucks were wrecks that I never, heard run or laid my eyes on. Baught out of state and had trucked to my home. I can't wait to do my next one.(waiting on approval from the wife).

It's honestly much easier now to put these trucks back together than it ewa 20 years ago. With the internet, sourcing parts is much, much easier.

With that said, I do have a good relationship with my local Toyota dealer. I just tell them up front that I'm putting a truck back together and if they can give me the best price they can. I've been getting Toyota body parts at very close to the price of wholesale. I make sure to be clear that I am not a dealer or shop owner. The honesty has paid off very well.

I agree, I had only seen pictures of it on Copart. And when i start to source body panels I’ll take that into consideration and see what my local dealer can do, thanks for the tip!
