I want to order the mini h1 kit from TRS for the next group buy. Just wanted to know if I get the mini gatling gun shrouds what size halos do I get that will fit them? Or would I need one of the bigger shrouds to have halos?

I recommend the few extra bucks for FXR. The install is just as easy. Better output and ability to run 55w.

As for halos I say nay, another member on here installed his and in a week or so only 2/3 of a halo was lighting up on one side.

I keep the retro's simple so there is less to fail. Would I like amber halos? HELL YEAH! I don't want to have to deal with parts going bad though

I'm in love with the X lens.

X is on the left O lens on right.

70mm halo will fit on the smaller lip of the shroud. I have this one and I'm now going to the 80mm so it will sit on the outer lip. At night when both the halos and projectors are on, the 70mm looks good but if I would have gone with 80mm it gives the illusion that the projectors/ beam of light is bigger. When you look at them from far away they look small. I've seen some with 80mm and for whatever reason the 80 gives the bigger appearance. Since halos are basically for aesthetics I want them to look proportionate to the housing.

Oops, forgot to ask if your mounting them on the outside or inside of the shrouds? If it the inside then I think 70mm is your choice. But if it's the outside of the shroud then you can choose between 70mm or 80mm

I was going to mount them on the outside. I didn't know mounting them on the inside was even an option. Wouldn't the light output be blocked by the shroud and projector?? I already ordered the 70mm but I don't think the group buy is over yet. Maybe I should phone TRS to see what they say.

Yeah mounting them on the inside of the shroud would give it a cool effect because the shrouds have roughly 1" slits spaced out about 1" apart around the middle part of the shroud. So when you mount the halo inside the light peeks through giving the "glowing" effect. I'm gonna order a set of 80mm for the outside lip and keep my 70mm and mount it on the inside of the shroud.

Interesting. I'll have to try that and see what it looks like. I'm thinking I might like it better on the inside.
