I was woundering. Since i love my truck so much i wouldnt trade it for the world every toyota owner knows that trust me. But theres the one thing i cant stand. NOT having 4 WD!!! Now i am not no multi million dollar guy but i was curious if anyone would even consider dropping the money into a truck thats 2x4 with some miles on in and spending the $$ for a 4X4 conversion kit?? and how much do they run any answers??

Your best bet is to go to a scrap yard and look for a wrecked from the rear 4x4 tacoma

all depends on how you acquire the parts

find a truck with all the parts but doesnt run for $500 youre looking at $500...buying all new parts from the dealer will cost you quite a bit

    no im guesstimating

i have no idea if you can find all the parts for $500

that link i posted has all the parts and all the steps

you'll have to source the parts to find best prices...start in junkyards and classifieds to find wrecked trucks

heres the thing...its pretty labor intensive...but not hard so to speak...

theres a bunch of people whove done it...but its always been driveway mechanics...not a shop...

and no one i know was able to get ALL the parts from 1 donor truck

Another thing to ponder is what would you get back out of the truck if you were to sell it? No matter how well the conversion is done, from a buyer's prospective it's not a factory 4x4 and the majority of folks, in my estimation, may want a factory 4x4. So you may want to weigh the cost of the conversion against selling your truck and finding a 4x4, with the idea of resale in mind. Just another thing to consider.
