Save yourself some money and pull the actuator off, then plug it in and let hang under the truck. See if it moves then. If not, pull the black cover off and check the posts going to the motor. You might be able to repair it and save yourself 300 bucks

Will do. Certainly won't mind saving the money.

Haven't had time to pull it the actuator out yet but I could hear the transfer case shift just fine. It's in 2hi now but the 4x4 light keeps flashing

So looking on eBay the part should look like this IMG_4372.jpg
with what looks like a vacuum hose coming out of the drivers side. Mine looks like thisIMG_4371.jpg
with the hose hanging and no nipple for the hose to slide over. Could this be the source of my problem?

It's not a vacuum hose. It's an air vent.

That being said, the nipple is broken off and you most likely have water that got inside of the actuator through it which is probably why it failed.

Oh my bad. Regardless I'll probably just go ahead and replace it considering the nipple is broke on it so the vent won't work anyway.

Yeah well I don't think you have much choice as it obviously doesn't work. Open it up and show us what it looks like in there when you get it off. Curious how much water you have in it

Yes I replaced the actuator and now it shifts from 2Hi to 4Hi and back to 2Hi no problem. I still do not have 4Lo but that is aperently a different actuator located in the transfer case that I have yet you fool with.

The fact that you have 4hi functioning leads me to believe your transferase is fine and not the culprit...
But I am not 100% there, I am also fighting these issues right now with my truck, maybe someone else will chime in.
Let us know here after you get a chance to fool with your issue how things went!!

From what I have read that the trasfercase actuator just binds up when it tries to shift into Lo from lack of use. My truck has 250k miles on it and I doubt it have more the 10 miles in low

I just ordered front actuator #4 new off ebay....
hopefully this works out for more than the 5k miles my last one gave me...
The price of the transfer case actuator is significantly more money, so will report back how things go next week after I slap the new one in...

turns out today I found a nice slice on one of the breather tube hoses that lead into the front actuator...
yours was all rusted out just like mine, I would suggest you take a really close look at your hoses there just incase you have the same issue!!!
it really is the only possible way we could all be getting this much moisture in our actuators...
seems like the slice was caused by the sharp metal edge from a clamp that holds another hose adjacent to this breather hose...
