I should be getting my 2015 DCSB TRD Sport in a couple of weeks, that I ordered in July. I want to put a lift in it but after reading all the post on here about them I'm still confused. I want to lift it 3" and level it, I think I will go with the OME kit with the leaf pack. My question is do you NEED to (a)extend brake lines, (b) change UCA or spindles. I am lifting mainly for looks and for added clearance. The truck will be used on the farm, so corn and bean fields will be the extent of wheeling it does. What size tire would be the best for this lift, no rubbing! Thanks to all of you in advance.

To answer part b of your question. Yes, you will need new UCAs at 3" to be able to get alignment correct.

Only been waiting for a week for an answer huh ??..:)

With 3" you'd want extended brakelines, small price for safety if for whatever reason you're susp. flex's more than the brakelines will extend, POP no brakes... You won't need UCA's or spindles.. As far as no rubbing it's been a bit of a fight to get any decent larger tire under them without rubbing, the cab mount for one is a rub area as is the stupid plastic Toyota wrapped the wheel wells with (say that 3 times fast) If no hard offroading involved you could probably get a good 285 but your still going to have spots that need trimmed unless your ok with the occasional rub, if you want absolutely no rubbing sadly stock may be your only option...

He can probably get away without UCA's with 3" & he'll still be within specs for toe in /toe out but he may have to fight to get dead nutts alignment but I don't know anyone who gets that with any lift seeing how most alignment shops use lasers/computer specs & thats as far as they go, they don't recognize lift from what I'm told

    (a) no, but very highly recommended. you'll likely pull a line at full droop. if you are going to go full out on the lift and truck you just ordered, why skimp on changing the lines?
    (b) no, but highly recommended. you can probably get it aligned so it doesn't ruin tires, but it won't be fun to drive (wander and bumpsteer). last thing you want is a new truck that sucks to drive.

as far as tire size, it depends on if and how much you want to cut.

Basically everything that Doug already said....

Ya know, on 2nd thought you may have to get UCA's for 3" & be in spec.. I'm a 1st gen , we can go 3" without UCA's & pretty much hit specs not 100% sure on the 2nds just letting you know...

    (a) You won't achieve 3" lift with the regular OME kit. It would be closer to 2.5". If you install top plate spacers to get to 3", longer brake lines will be needed. If you go with longer/stiffer coil springs to get to 3", longer brakes will be not be necessary.

    (b) Aftermarket UCAs are needed for more than 2.5" of lift. Due to the anti-dive suspension geometry, the truck loses caster with increasing lift. At 3" lift, you'll be at zero or negative caster, and the normal self-centering steering behavior will be gone. An aftermarket UCA provides 3-5 deg of caster at that point.

Extended brake lines aren't necessary but I would changed them. I haven't on mine but I will when I upgrade my spindles cause then I'll need to. As for UCA's, it's recommended that you get aftermarket for any lift over 2.5" or else you won't get your alignment back in spec. Fatbob's garage has Light Racing UCA's right now for $379.

Thanks for chiming in guys, I had a feeling I might be a little askew with the UCA thing, now I know...:)

Well from what I had been reading I thought everyone liked the OME lift. I haven't looked at the King but the Fox is a lot more in price. Right or wrong remember I won't be rock crawling in it would just like the clearance and look. Don't mind paying more but if one is equal to the other I go with the best price. The name don't mean that much to me. Thanks to everyone for the responses. I see I've got more home work to do! So many options!

King and Icon are really nice but can be pricey, but they are designed for off-roading. If you're doing it just for looks and stuff 33's on it then there's no problem going with an OME setup. I have bilstein 5100's with eibach coils and a 2" AAL on mine and haven't had any problems off-roading. I would like to upgrade to ADS coil overs or Kings and have a decent mid-travel but I don't have $2-3k to drop on a lift. Keep in mind though you will need to do a cab mount chop and some trimming on the plastic in the wheel wells, unless you go with some Maxtrac spindles as well. With the spindles and adjustable front shocks you can get anywhere from 4-7" of lift. With 4" of lift with the spindles, I don't think you'll need to do a cab mount chop but I could be wrong, just might have to look into it a little more.

Ya know, I've installed 2 sets of 4" Camburgs on guys trucks & IIRC I think they still ended up chopping the mount, crazy...

Was that with stock shocks? I was wondering if the bilsteins set at .85 with the spindles (almost 7" of lift) would require it. Granted the ride would be rough as shit! Once I get the spindles I'm gonna re-do my setup and have it sit just high enough to tuck in 35's, so mate 4.5" of lift or so. It'll ride a lot smoother then

I'm thinking they'd been fine with a 33" but running 35"'s might've been the determining factor for the chop, Mikey (05offroad) had the billys at 2.5

& pretty sure he's on 33"'s in this pic

But it looks like mike had already chopped his before, he's since full LT

Haha those Camburgs are just so fucking massive, you can stick 3 OEM spindles inside of 1 Camburg...
