I definitely like the higher seating position. Absolutely feels more comfortable. I have an older iPad, so I can ordered a stand and hooked it up to my OBD reader. I did front and back on both front seats.

Is there a reason you need an iPad while driving?

I use to for logging and monitoring temps, AFR, timing, ect. I’m not watching a movie and looking at it vs the road. Is there any difference with this info being displayed on any other screen, I think not.

that’s what she said…. lol, sorry I couldn’t help myself. 6.6 x 9.45 inches. It’s not small but not that big. Realistically, it could be on a smaller screen, but since I had this iPad sitting around doing nothing, I figured I’d put it to use.

I intentionally mounted it low to keep it from blocking my of view out the windshield.

First the truck looks fantastic. On the sear risers, how tall are you? I am thinking for my wife’s seat. The iPad is a good idea. Can you put google maps and use voice commands?

    good luck

His input will be greatly valued there.

In all seriousness, I like the idea, OP. No sense in spending hundreds on a ScanGauge when I can use an OBD II reader and my iPad. Good work

I take it you are monitoring when off-roading or running a supercharger or something ? If it’s stock setup wouldn’t the oem gauges be sufficient enough ?

Thanks, love the truck too. I’m 6’ and even with the motorized seat at its highest position I have plenty of headroom.

Correct but OEM gauges are minimal. I also want to monitor trans temps, AFR, timing, engine oil temps, ect. My truck is not supercharged at this point but I still enjoy logging to understand what is going on under the hood. Gears and a tune will be next.

change "lambda" display to 3 decimals.
I would add knock feedback and knock correction learning value.

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
This has me wondering if there's a way to lower the seat.

At 6 feet tall, and longer in the body than in the legs, I only have half an inch of headspace, which doesn't leave a lot of room to adjust the backrest on those long road trips.

I would have preferred one without the sunroof, which reduces the ceiling height by about 2 inches, but the package I wanted isn't available without the sunroof.

You can do that using a 50 dollar tracfone, turn most of the apps off and use it as a " dumb terminal" This way its not taking up so much room in the dash/passenger area.

Buy a RAM mount slide and arm and it can be adjusted almost anywhere and take up much less room.

Nice setup. Honestly, this iPad has been sitting around for a few years doing nothing, happy to put it to work.

Vlady, on knock feedback, is -3.0 the best it gets? Driving around I barely saw it move, -3.4 to -3.7 at a few points but 99% of the driving stayed at -3.0

Run through the entire rpm range, engine loads and different outside temperatures.
