Ha well, I thought I was negotiating an out the door price. It's been long enough since I bought something new, I had forgotten about the six different "total" prices. A game is a good way to look at it. Although I'm a sore loser. lol

Go to freeman Toyota’s website, they are out of Santa Rosa CA. Find the truck you want, click request internet price and enjoy. They have really aggressive pricing and you can decide to shop that price local or make a road trip from CA back to Arizona if it saves you thousands.

I agree man, I need to check the anger. I wasn't on here to cuss folks out, but I am a bit hot and shouldn't have lost it like I did.
    Also, fuck the dealers games.
I don't know that I have ever bought a vehicle in the same city I've lived. The power of the internet helps for sure. These deals were set up electronically, with two trips into Findlay since they are close.

Now I'm apprehensive about traveling out of state, spending the money on the trip and gettin a surprise when I show up.

Why give up on Toyota when it is just a jerkoff dealer. Go somewhere else..............there are plenty out there. Good luck, now get your ass out there and buy a Tacoma.

    Out the door

    I'll try that

I was asking what price I would pay taxes on. That didn't seem to work.

Lots of people have had good luck with Riverview Toyota in Tempe. I've had 2 friends buy from there. I bought mine from Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa. Was a quickeasy deal, but I got lucky, it was a used 2017 with 5k miles on it and was priced at nearly what I was wanting to pay. But I have to say I checked and called about 15 dealerships before going there in person.

I'll look at Riverview again, I hadn't heard of them yet. I did try Earnhardt, but didn't get a long with the sales person on the internets.....I think it may be me. lol

All sales people are pushy and demanding. It was my first time buying from a dealership but I researched everything I could before I went and then i let the first 2 guys talk themselves out of selling me a truck. When they couldn't answer my questions about it I asked for someone else until the sales manager finally took care of the deal. And I told him how his guys gave wrong answers about the equipment on the truck, what options it had and told him I could no longer trust them to take my money. But when this guy leveled with me and I told him what I was looking at, more them and their service not the truck itself the deal went smoothly and I got a more than fair price.

CarMax never has negotiating. They always have a few new vehicles on their lot, though they won't usually transfer those between sites.

What questions did you have for them that you could not get the answers online? "Could you please explain to me, in detail, how an Atkinson cycle engine works?" Yeah, most sales guys are not car guys - they could be selling washing machines for all they know or care about cars.
Never ask any questions of the sales people, research online and know exactly what you want, and about how much you want to pay before going to the dealer.

Op fuck that dealer. Go buy a Tacoma somewhere else, Rip donuts in the lot shitty dealers lot. That’s essentially what I did, minus the donuts. I have a VERY smug look about me, and I put it to work at the dealership that gave me the runaround. Oooohhhh so smug

Haha not quite that in depth but I'll remember that one. Mostly questions like does the sport come with a locker in the rear, can you add apps to the factory head unit, what's the premium option cost and difference. Things that I already knew but I wanted to take them off their game. When they answer one thing and then show them that's its wrong you undermine their confidence. Then you can start asking the real questions like are you sure this is the best price you can get? Psychological warfare. Yeah it's a little dirty but in this instance I'm looking for the nest deal I can get not the best deal for the dealership.
