First Hello! I've been a Tacoma owner for a year or so, almost to the day, 2012 DBCB SR5 4x4. It has been an amazing truck, only had the pleasure of putting about 5k on her, picked her up used with 10k.

    IMG_0101_90b5419ba1083229f1106b93e953c12246cd5a75.jpg

Long story short, the other day my wife ended up at the dealership. We buy cars in pairs it seems. A year ago we picked up a limited Rav4 for her, and the SR5 for me. Hers was new, mine was used.

She loathed her Rav4 over the past year. To the point I swear I could see her outside spitting on it in effigy.

Fast forward to this past Sunday. Her father was eyeballing a new Tundra, he's retiring this year, been driving the same F350 Diesel for 15 years, 300k+ on the clock, he deserves a sweet ride. All decked out, it was coming in at 53k. They were trying to get a deal with the sales guy (good friend of ours) to get him into that and my wife out of her Rav4. They probably could have done it, but Sunday came along, and my wife calls me and wakes me up and says "Marc can get you into your dream car, get down here."

So without much to do, I got up, drove down there, I wasn't even sure which car they were speaking of, but the wife calls, the husband comes. I get to the dealership, and there she sat....

My wife needed my equity from my Tacoma to help out with our trade ins, she was upside down on hers as the value of the Rav4 dropped like a rock, I had paid mine down more than it was worth, so I had equity, we had both purchased extra warranties on top, I had 2200 left on mine, she had 2700 left on hers, so we rolled that into the down on each rig.

My truck needed new tires this year ~1k, no lift, no wheels, so with those, I would have been back up to owing around 30k, the new rig with all of that done brand new, was only 33k.

I had to make a judgement call, and well, I took the plunge, it's pretty bad ass, I absolutely love it. I'll miss my Taco, it was my dream truck and I'm not even really a "truck" guy, but it was awesome.

She ended up getting a Highlander Limited, it has everything and is such a far cry from what her Rav4 wasn't, it's just not comparable. She is very happy, which Happy Wife Happy Life comes into play. No more hearing her complain about how much she hates the Rav4.

I'll miss the community, this is the best forums I've ever taken part in. If I could have swung both the FJ and the Taco, I would have been in for sure.

Here's a pic of the new rides.

Nice FJ.is it a 4x4? Drove a rav4 last Dec. when my niece was looking at them I gave it a big thumbs down. It just sounded cheap on the road and it was too small & tight inside. I wanted her to find a nice used 2 or 3 Y.O. 4 runner (lots of them in Fla.) But she could not find one she liked so She got a new High lander limited and love's the thing.

Hey! Yeah, it's 4x everything pretty much. It has adaptive crawl control, rear diff lock, a-trac, etc. I'm pretty sure this thing can go anywhere.

    Edit:

I read like a dumb ass while at work - You were talking about the Rav4. yes, the rav 4 was HORRIBLE.
