All science starts as theory, then if it stands up to all other theory then it becomes law.... gravity comes to mind.

That is the difference between science and religion and why its so easy for people to bag on science but refuse to accept things that bag on religion. Science will say yes, we found out that this theory is no longer real, valid, or whatever. Religion says, so what, just believe. If in religion, lets take moses for example, lets say I could prove 99% of the bible to be a fact.... (crazy but stay with me) then I proved that they were slightly wrong about his age and that he only lived to be 70, not hundreds of years old. Then religious people would freak out and argue the point til they are blue in the face. However in science if I told everyone the world was flat, then years later said nope its round.... and then proved it... everyone would accept it as fact. The difference is science backs up what it says, or in the event that the theory changes, it gives a how, why, and a reason. Religion does non of this. That is why there are so many religions and only 1 science.

I am not saying that science is always right, I am just saying I would rather have facts on my side to argue with than someones point of view. I mean as a child the game telephone pretty much shows what people are capable of.

And the other thing is science encourages you to prove it wrong, religion damns it. IF I told a christian that god is not real he would give me his point of view, if I told a scientific person that dinosaurs were not real he would explain real facts to show me I am wrong.

 

That's reassuring.
