Just got done doing the King coilovers and SPCs on the front of my 2016 TRD Tacoma. First time ive done anything like this, had a local mobile mechanic come out and do most of the install while i was working.

There is a ton of positive camber after the install. SPC set to "D" and looks like its maxed on adjustment. The guy that did the install insists that i just need an alignment which i expected, but i didnt think it would be this bad. Worried ill fuck something up on my way to the alignment shop.

Why did you not go with the stock setting on the UCA adjustment. The alignment shop will adjust all the toe caster and camber on the stock adjustment in the front end before they touch the UCAs.

I have my SPC on the stock setting and got all the alignment done from the stock adjustments and clear larger tires

You’re fine. Just don’t drive like an idiot and you’ll make it to the alignment shop.

i can see what the numb nut did wrong, he has the ball joint installed backwards with the SPC facing away from the tire. This is what i get for trying to save time and hire a local schlep to save some time and keep working while he did the lift. Looks like im going to harbor freight to pick up a jack and a few tools to get this done properly. smfh.

After hitting harbor freight to buy a few things I didn’t have, and about 90 min everything is torqued properly and the ball joint and adjuster are oriented properly. Still some positive camber but MUCH better.

I stopped him when I saw the camber before he did the rears.

Guess I’ll be doing that tonight or in the morning. Thank god I know how to turn a wrench, woulda been pissed if I couldn’t fix it on my own.

How bad is doing the rear leafs ? Shocks look easy it’s the heavy Dakar I’m worried about getting into place on my own.

Yeah it's super easy to correct the ball joint on your own. Just jack the front end up and loosen the top nut on the SPCs, twist the ball joint to the D setting and for the correct camber make sure the ball joint is slid as far toward the tire as it will go (there's a slot for it to slide in/out to adjust camber). Torque the top nut to 150ft lbs and get an alignment to top it off

Basically how it went. I retorqued everything as well. Eliminated most of that positive camber. Now to do the rears and get an alignment. Hopefully not get crushed by the heavy Dakar pack in the process haha

Going to update my build thread but for those following here, she’s done. Tires are here, wheels tomorrow, mount balance and alignment Tuesday, only
Be looking like I skipped leg day for a few days. Looking great ! The heavy Dakars were HEAVY and a real pain but got it done.

The guy works under mighty mobile. Very strange experience. Glad I sacked up and did it on my own afterwards.
