The airing of grievances is good too.

I think the Yaris has better acceleration than the turd gen from a complete stop

My other car is a 485hp Chrysler Hemi and you just tickle the gas pedal and you’re laying rubber and cruising at 100mph. Takes a minute to adjust from the Tacoma to the Hemi but I like the slower, linear response of the truck. Great for nudging a trailer into a spot.

sounds like you should drive a Yaris

OTH, some days my Tacoma has great acceleration and other days it feels like a dog. It just depends on how the ECU is feeling that day. Too cold, too wet, too humid? the fuel you used has 1% more ethanol then usual? ECU decides to fuck with you a bit. anytime my truck feels weird I look at the short term fuel trims and they are all over the place.

Are you sure it's not a Ford. Their engines sound different depending on the relative humidity.

I was being facetious, but anyway, maybe you need to work on your ankle range of motion. Disclaimer: I’m still being facetious.

A question no one has asked…

Is the truck modded in the engine compartment, CAI or TB spacer? If it’s all stock and nothing is worn out then maybe a tune as suggested…

Yep indeed, and the first 1/3 of pedal travel does nothing when in Drive. It goes just fine once you push it past that. For a utility truck at least.
