Hey @mesojdm! I just picked up a 3rd Gen and have been drooling over some of your beautifully fabricated pieces. Think my first meso purchase will be the black out led turn signals.

Anyway - truck has 300 miles on it so far and we went out for our first camping/trail run last weekend.

I quickly realized that using the wireless QI charger on trails is near impossible as the phone has be sitting almost exactly over it for it to work.

I know you are a busy man, but how hard would it be to 3D print a bracket for that cubby to keep the phone over the QI charger? Maybe it could be adjustable so it wouldn't have to be a specific bracket for every phone out on the market?

Just thinking here and you were the first person I thought of that could design something that wasn't ugly, but also functional.

A bracket? How would it attach to the phone? I was thinking more of a "tray" that molded to the size of your phone so it doesn't slide around and stays in 1 spot?

Yes. I poorly discribed that. A tray would probably work better. It would just have to be thin enough so that the QI charger could penetrate the material. Then maybe it adheres to the bottom or stays snug by pushing up against the walls?

BMW use to sell something similar on the e90 models that fit in the center console. However, this was for connecting to the bmw system as well. This could be way more simplistic.

While you’re thinking about that QI pad area, any chance you could give some thought to a “door” that could close that cubby off? A lot of other vehicles have a push-to-open sort of thing so that you can keep stuff in there when you’re away from the vehicle. Don’t need any fancy slow-spring loaded stuff, just something that could make that a compartment and not just a tray. I miss it from my Outback

Just me dreaming over here haha

More thoughts after you mentioned the tray...

The "tray" could be the exact dimensions of the whole cubby so it just set in there and then it would just need different size slots for various phone sizes. I understand where the headache comes in for you is all of the different phones on the market. I think if the slot for the phone was even just close to the size of most phones on the market though it would work as long is it stayed pretty close to being over the QI pad.

I don't know though. Thats why I thought I would call on the @mesojdm brain to walk through this with me. Its defiantly something I am going to figure out as I spend more time on trails than I do on the road and it just isn't cutting it as is for trail use.
